This is not the first study with these results. Main thing is easy. Work on scene, Train personnel on compressions and minimize interruptions. Simple, smooth codes and better out comes.
I mainly use the truck scope. I can hear fine with it. Once in a while I will carry my personal scope. It always hangs around my neck, when carrying it. Funny, in 28 years I have never had a pt grab my scope when around my neck.
I cannot find the article right now. This PP does talk about out comes and reductions. This is what was presented at the National Emergency Physicians conference two years ago.
This is Greenville, SC.
The culture debate has already been proven a myth. We have exceeded the ED rates. We are actually at 6 months straight of 0 contamination. The ED's cannot even get this.
The evidence from the hospitals have already showed a reduction in mortality and length of stays.

This has been working for two years already.

This study is absolutely useless. It takes no variables into account. Hell, they might as well looked at what color underwear each pt was wearing at the time.
We draw for strokes. This way blood can be sent to lab, while we take pt to CT.
We also draw cultures and lactate in sepsis pts. Cultures take a little more time, as the steps to keep everything sterile, take a bit longer. Lactate is only one we worry about time sensitivity. It must reach lab...
MCG academy is a good course to take, if your able. They have a lot of top notch EMS training and Education at MCG.

I know one thing. He screwed up. The nursing boards are exploding over this and they have made this go national overnight. If you ever thought EMS was savage, it can't even compare!!

I agree with that. But, he should have never been trying to arrest her in the first place. So the guy is an idiot all around!

They did not have legal right for blood draw. There was no warrant, pt not under arrest, and pt could not give consent. The officer knew he was wrong and for mad when the Rn showed him the policy and refused to allow the draw.

Yes, the officer knew he had no legal ground for blood draw, so he tried to bully it. Utah law allows implied consent for blood draw, if subject is legally arrested. This officer stated that the man was not under arrest.

We jump between vials and carpojets, so we can't customize them. We been using this style boxes for years and they work great. If worried about loose vials in box, just wrap vials in a 4x4.

Then do away with the town hall! Would you not think that EMS should take precedent over a meeting place?
Cities and counties love to cry they cannot afford it. But, they can afford all the other crap! If needed raise the property tax. I have never lived any where that I would complain about my...
