    ACLS and PALS course

Can't believe I'm even bothering to reply, but since you are so very concerned. Not sure how me asking where to take the ACLS course makes you assume most of my training is online, but I can assure you it's not.

    ACLS and PALS course

The course alone thats closest to me costs about the same as going to Serbia to take it, including transportation and lodging, so no. I've found some course in South Africa that I might do, then I'll be able to take the PALS course at the same time, which I will have to do in two separate trips...

    ACLS and PALS course

Norway. So probably I will go for an ERC course, but if the AHA course is cheaper I wouldnt mind combining an ACLS and possibly PALS course with a vacation to the US instead of taking it somewhere in Europe 🙂

    ACLS and PALS course

Got it, thanks. Does the prices differ much from place to place?

    ACLS and PALS course

Do you know of some reputable companies to do the ACLS course?

    ACLS and PALS course

That's what I thought. Do you have any recommendations? Is it a big difference in the quality of the AHA accredited courses?

    ACLS and PALS course

I am about to apply for a cruise ship medic job and in that regard I need an ACLS/ALS and PALS certification. Does anybody here knows of a reputable place to take it? I see some places offer 100% online courses, but will they be AHA accredited? I am considering whether to take an American AHA...

    Princess Cruises?

Great thread, thanks to everybody that has contributed! Norwegian paramedic here, interested in giving this a try. I did a cultural representative program in WDW 10 years ago, and had the best time of my life there, despite having the ****tiest job I have ever had (and the lowest pay). Had it...

    Categorising chief complaints

I give up...... Anyways, if anybody else who does think making a list as mentioned in the first post sounds like a good idea and are willing to help me out, feel free to comment or send me a PM. If you think its a bad idea, please don't bother commenting.

    Categorising chief complaints

I see your point, however I think you misunderstand the role the list will play in my patient assessment. Im not gonna pull out a long and comprehensive list in front of the patient and go over it step by step. It is meant as a quick reminder of the most important things I can encounter to keep...

    Categorising chief complaints

Ok sorry, let me clarify. That was a bit exaggerated. In my experience some of my colleagues are very fast at jumping to a diagnosis, sometimes almost even before they see the patient. They are very determined to say that this or that is the problem, when in my view, they have a very uncertain...

    Categorising chief complaints

I'm noticing my English is deteriorating so I apologise if I make myself unclear. To try to give an example of my thinking to your case: I assume when you got the call, the chief complaint was something like abdominal pain, maybe also with obstipation. That would probably be the case in my...

    Categorising chief complaints

My point with it is not to come up with a diagnosis, I have worked long enough to know that is not significant, and often impossible. My goal is, as mentioned earlier, to be more systematic in my examination of the patients, and not miss out on clues to a critical condition, i.e. miss an...

    Categorising chief complaints

In an effort to become more systematic, I am trying to categorise the different complaints we get called to. I am not completely satisfied with any of the lists I have found in my paramedic books, although they have been of great help. My goal is to make a list as comprehensive as possible to...

Help with elective placement in Scandinavia

Found this one. It's a part time course in Bodo (northern Norway) and I think they just got started so don't know anything about them. But you may contact the persons listed there for more info.

Help with elective placement in Scandinavia

Hi, don't know if it is too late for you to do the placement, but I have recently finished the first bachelor paramedic program in Norway. We had the opportunity to have a placement in the UK (with Hertfordshire, or however it is spelled), Poland, Sweden and Finland. They are looking for more...

    Got my Paramedic...now what?

Khan academy has a lot of videos on A&P, pathophysiology and also pharmacology I think, that I have found to be very good at explaining normal and abnormal processes in the body and much help alongside my books. Two other resources I would recommend are Andrew Wolf and Armando Hasudungan on...

How to get into the remote medic field for a paramedic

Hey, I didn't see your reply here before I replied to your PM. Thank you very much for this info, it is very useful! I read the Cruise line thread and found it very interesting. Definitely recommended for people interested in working on cruise lines. If only I didn't have a kid I would try that...
