    CA EMT changes?

I agree with JP. We wont be able to advance as a white collar job until we break away from the post-secondary training that we receive now. Whether it has an immediate effect on medics now or not, making the jump towards an AA program will definitely help us out as a profession in the long...

    Medical Ethical Scenarios

    1) I would continue with full treatment as the DNR is now void on the count of the responsible party with valid paperwork stating she does not want the DNR/DNI to be respected. 2) Continue attempting to persuade Pt. by all possible means. Attempt acquiring consent to treat MONA/FONA. However...

    Overdose?

All V/s stable, hx of anxiety, recent argument with boyfriend. It appears the lights are shining on anxiety in this case. I would snag etco2, a 12 lead, and monitor her sat while making an attempt at coaching her to relax and calm down. Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G using Tapatalk

    CA EMT changes?

I'd be very excited to see an increase in our curriculum for medic nationally in the US. Particularly in CA. Perhaps having an educational course instead of a "training" program will help move this career away from being recognized as simply a stepping stone to OTHER healthcare professions.

St John apologises for care failings

This pt deserved a full assessment and not a lazy one. Not placing this pt on an ecg or spo2 is pure laziness! Obviously it is not easy to say what did or did not occur or what the media simply chose to report; however, hopefully, the family received some sort of instructions on what to do had...

    Trauma Activation

Thanks for all of the feedback guys. I ended up continuing C-spine precautions on the notion that the Pt was already on a back board with a c-collar and a terribly MacGyvered version of a head bed. I felt uneasy removing him from spinal precautions based on the report given by the Dr and the...
