    COVID VACCINE - The Megathread

The first step should be EMS employers providing actual sick days instead of making me burn PTO and get a doctor's note for the sniffles or face an occurrence.

    2021 EMS Conferences

Hopefully not so fast that we can't get tickets. I suspect it's going to be a logistical nightmare for us.

Not 2021 but I'm going to HLTH crash and burn next year

AMLS isn't required for us for obvious reasons. I've always looked at it as a review of Paramedic school medical modules. That's education that a critical care Paramedic should breeze through. I almost always teach it at the local community College medic program, so to them it's new...

Is your public EMS service providing interfacility transports?

They've been around for at least 11 years. Honestly only ever cared if fire was going or they werent. Of course our chest pain calls were almost always delta level (fire reaponse) because EMD dispatch uses leading questions.

AMLS is my favorite to teach out of the cookie cutter card classes.

Dog is home from his first Injection for heart worms. No running, jumping, or aggressive playing for the next 10 weeks minimum. This will test my sanity.

AMR cant staff, fire/ sheriff transport

I've never worked in California EMS but I feel like I read here that it's pretty common for ambulance companies to Pay the county, as well as pay Fire and then bill the patient and try ro recoup money? If that's the case, why would any county ever get into EMS? Not to mention the fire unions...

    Favorite power stretcher

I have used both the Stryker Power Pro and the Ferno Power Flexx in a 911 setting. I've always felt that the Ferno promoted poor lifting technique even when team lifting. So Stryker for me.

    Beta CCP-C Test

I ordered new nameplates for work, left the CCP off, already thinking I'll let that go in 4 years. I don't get anything extra for it and I have to renew it out of pocket.

    Beta CCP-C Test

I'm not surprised. Critical care transfers in ambulances aren't as sexy as helicopters and 911 calls. FP-C is also a catch all that I'm sure most people just went ahead and got.

    The Gun Thread

I have a cheap Primary arms 1-4 on my m4gery and run the vortex strike fire on a hunting bolt rifle. I like it enough to get another vortex to swap out that PA. The PA is nice but the illuminated reticle has a lot of splash.

AMR cant staff, fire/ sheriff transport

Agreed. The GMR/AMR/Air Evac (insert whatever other services are under the umbrella) model of dropping a base or ambulance service wherever possible is a bubble that will eventually burst. One way or another.

    Hospital Divert

Our hospital has been on and off adult diversion, the competing hospital started responding by going on diversion. So in the end, nobody was on diversion.

And remember that the cab and drive train for most ambulances is not specific to ambulances. They're used on tow trucks, commercial delivery and hauling, etc etc
