Medic or emt? Not sure were hiring for medics anymore and we just hired 2 part time EMT's. The background process is rather long through RRH so be prepared for that though.... best of luck. Its become an excellent company to work for.

AMR santa barbara, San Luis Ambulance, or Hall

Sure i can agree on that. And i 100% agree on limiting exposure on potential covid pts. I do that all the time now. And i also cancel fire all the time now. And your right, 95% of the time i absolutely DONT need fire. The only difference when i cancel them now iss that they weren't gonna show up...

AMR santa barbara, San Luis Ambulance, or Hall

So to be frank, It seems like you jump into threads and sorta slam me on stuff that is baseless. yeah fire sucks in my area, They still do. They're actually a whole lot worse now cause they're too scared to do any pt contact so they show up and stand outside the house and refuse to have any pt...

Whats your "criteria" for starting iv access on a pt?

we also have a hospital that tends to scoff if a pt has an iv that they want to go to triage or will scold medics for putting in an iv. It doesnt change my treatment protocols whatsoever but its in the back of my mind. Ultimately its if i think my pt needs iv access while in MY care, and not...

Whats your "criteria" for starting iv access on a pt?

So fairly straightforward but looking to see both sides of the story. for me i feel like i sometimes lack consistency. Overall i look at my pt's and say: Do they need meds? do they need fluids? Do i think their complaint warrants IV access in case their condition deteriorates and they need...

IFT Post stroke pt - does ems need to get tpa administration time?

Also the believe they stated c.t. was possibly inconclusive which was their reason for MRI. Just saying what I was told. I have no clue with advanced imaging stuff like a few of the above posters.

    Resp failure ift pt

The other factors to mention is that our company is now owned by the sending facility and our med control is the e.r. doctor. Our company runs all 911s as well as ifts in the area and we have complete control. There is only one cct unit owned by another company that isn't ALLOWED to enter our...

IFT Post stroke pt - does ems need to get tpa administration time?

I'm not offering excuses. I'm giving a clear picture of the situation and answering questions of the above posters. I'm well aware that I'm responsible for my pt, thanks for that. But your missing the entire point. I'm not looking to argue here. I've seen multiple people's views on the...

    Resp failure ift pt

Very true tigger and i appreciate the advice. i wasnt trying to come off like that after asking for feedback / advice so my apologies. While there HAVE been a few pt transfers denied by medics....The unfortunate general consensus is that unless the Transfer is SO unsafe and the pt is SO...

IFT Post stroke pt - does ems need to get tpa administration time?

Also receiving Dr was there with 2 residents and Dr was WELL aware of pt's full history and everything. None of the other staff had any other issues or questions as it was primarily just the floor nurse who met the pt in the ER who had the questions / issues.

IFT Post stroke pt - does ems need to get tpa administration time?

Soooo to try to answer a few of those questions. Pt developed AFIB from a complication during a recent pregancy. it was a clear ischemic stroke on CT with MRI showing possible lesion in cerrebellum. TPA was given instead of PCI because thats all the sending hospital was capable of and pt met...

IFT Post stroke pt - does ems need to get tpa administration time?

SO in the conquest of always learning and growing heres the question. Took an IFT. Pt came in with obvious stroke symptoms via POV and was treated with TPA, Stroke symptoms resolved and upon transfer pt was entirely asymptomatic with almost perfect vital signs, CPSS negative throughout. This...
