    NREMT Basic Employment after failing!

Maybe not the NR but.. Iowa used to list on the state website how many times you were enrolled in, failed, failed to complete, were kicked out ect ect.. for paramedic programs. So lets say you dropped out of a paramedic program in 2006, failed one in 2008, and completed a program in 2010, it...

I generally disagree with him on topics, but +1 to mycrofft on this. Nobodys forcing anyone to use the forums. If you dont like it dont post. Guess I will have to look up NAEMD protocols since they are not used around here. Although I do wish our dispatchers would be competent enough to find out if there is a history of seizures and/or the patients current mental status.

Why does a seizure not meet your criteria for medics? Granted, person may have a history of them and refuse.. But it could also be a host of other things.

    Whacker truck!

We have FLIR in our trucks. When used right, it works great. Why would it be common in a mobile command post? Normally those are moved to the temporay command center and set up/only moved when needed, they do not stay 'mobile' for the duration nof an incident.

Im sorry to hear that. I had a professor at the university who was autistic. It was one of the best course I ever took. Also work with a medic who mildly is. Just remember the diagnosis does not define him, it just means some day to day lifestyle changes and doing things a bit differently than...

Sleeping on the job:how do you do it?

We have the 'right' to sleep from the hours of 8pm to 6am. That is in our contract. That does not mean you get to if you are running calls. We exclusively work 24 hour shifts though. At my old service I work overnights - 12 hour shifts. I never came to work thinking about when to sleep, as I was...
