    Emerald City Ambulance - Seattle

Yeah Falck it sounds like isn't doing as hot as they expected. Although they do have the Evergreen contract and started running BLS with a variation with West Pierce Fire. But from talking to some crews it sounds like they mostly just sit around and play video games all day haha.

    Emerald City Ambulance - Seattle

I know right? I heard on one call the charge nurse was like "we only use AMR, we have a contract with them" and the owner called and claimed to be a subsidiary of AMR and got the call. Sketchy much? Anyway my friend got laid off from there a month ago at which point they had 2 ppl left. They...

    Idiot partners beware!

Dude yeah! I ate at a vegan restaurant once and thought I was going to die from either my intestines blowing up or poisoning myself from all that methane spewing from my innards

One year experience? And working at 911 company?

my first job ever was a pretty cool 911 gig. but i guess most amb companie around here are involved in 911 and hire without experience

Meriter ambulance design might not be safest, some EMS experts say

The rig that crashed in the article was not a 911 unit, it sounds like it was a specialized NICU (neonatal ICU). I've been on NICU transports plenty of times and all I have to say is...try fitting a huge incubator + the NICU team (2-4 nurses and docs) plus all their bags of equipment into a type...

    Emerald City Ambulance - Seattle

I saw their 2 ambulances in a holding lot in West Seattle the other day. Old rigs from the 90s but with shiny new paint jobs, top half is white, bottom half in green, and with the Washington State flag on the cab doors. The van rig is this year Ford...

    Looking for work in Seattle

That's awesome! Patience my friend...the calls will come! I'd definitely go for TriMed over NW amb. Trimed gets all sorts of crazy ghetto 911 action. But If Olympic in Thurston works out, I'd go with that because from what I understand they share primary 911 response with the FD so often...

    Looking for work in Seattle

man you are just a couple months late! AMR, Rural/Metro and Falck were all hiring like crazy a couple months ago. AMR was even giving $1500 bonuses for ppl with their state cert. Check Olympic Ambulance in Lacey, they are actively looking for people, even on craigslist. That's about an hour...

    EMT patch on Job shirt

can you put it on the left shoulder and the flag underneath it? I seen a lot of agency's do that.

Lights and sirens on all transports

I assume it's a private company? It's probably an excuse to make you guys clear faster to move on to the next call which = more money... but yeah along the lines of Mycrofft, just cause you got L&S doesn't mean you have to go 20 over! drive slow and stop at/clear every intersection!

    Ambulance wreck; safety harness

the most effective safety feature would definitely be to have stuffed animals and bean bags all over the inside walls of the mod

Seattle/King County Fire and EMS politics.

amen to that! I kind of think AEMT should just be the base level. I know in Canada that's pretty much how it is, and it would be way more practical for everyone.

Seattle/King County Fire and EMS politics.

Well there are only 7 Medic units available in all of Seattle, and we're a prettyyyy big city, so if every Pt was to see a medic... you can see how that just wouldn't work.

Star of Life / EMS clothing when off duty... Tacky or just being proud?

Falck - or the 900-pound gorilla no one is aware of

No clue! I don't think they did anything. I just know Snohomish county FDs had a meeting and they all decided not to use them... probably just because they're new and everyone feels threatened so being hostile is kind of everybody's first reaction.
