Is long hair professional in EMS?

"And the sign says long haired freaky people need not apply" ...Love that song. All seriousness tho...I think hair length should not be an issue in EMS as long as it looks clean and is neat but there is that perceived public service look that the public and most management have...

    Why don't you run?

I don't run because I'm tired most of the time and if you run on scene it makes the tension levels increase with the patient, bystanders and family. If they see you run you look stressed and by looking stressed you look like you have little or no clue with what you are doing.

    Are you proud?

I'm proud that my back and mental status is intact after 20years of service. I am humble I guess with what I do. I don't have any identifiers on my car that I am a paramedic, I rarely where EMS/Fire shifts off duty, and don't have thinks around my home proving to other what I do. I guess I try...
