Anyone used a SALT Airway on a real patient?

CA is pushing towards removing basics anyway and only running Intermediates and Medics, thus allowing anyone to shove tubes and needles into patients. Another way of terming that is, we're going to need a lot more bandages.

    BP Question

The other important thing to remember (especially for testing purposes) is Hypertension or Hypotension (as well as tachycardia, bradycardia, tachypnea, bradypnea etc.) are meaningless terms if the patient isn't symptomatic. By definition the average adult BP is NOW 130/90 up from the previous...

New EMS tv show on NBC

That's a good point, most laymen don't know the difference between EMT's and Medics, and furthermore aren't scrutinizing every procedure mistake that's made. Although i did laugh my *** off when Rabbit ran iced fluids for that kid who ate :censored::censored::censored::censored: on his...

New EMS tv show on NBC

This show is "meh" at best. They need to decide if they want to focus on proper ems and entertain those of us in EMS or if they want' to focus on the relationships between the characters and let us not waste our time. Either way, it will be canceled soon.

    NREMT and CPR

Yeah i'm sort of getting the same vibe though from everyone i've talked to about registry in that it pinpoints areas that you didn't master and drills you on that as well as it being majority of "what would you do" rather than "what does this mean". All the insight is appreciated, and i will...

    NREMT and CPR

2005 AHA is 1 1/2 - 2" for adult and 1/3rd to half body mass for children and infants (though my class was trained 1-1.5" and 0.5-1" respectively), the 2010 AHA standards is 1/3rd body mass for all Pt's. Hopefully I don't encounter a direct question such as that I previously mentioned. I don't...

    NREMT and CPR

Hey all, just stumbled upon this site and it looks like a lot of you have some good insight on what exactly i'm getting myself into. I'm just about to wrap up my EMT class and register for NREMT-B test. My question is, what is the protocol's for CPR on National Registry? What i mean by...
