    AEMT Written Test Question

I just took the NREMT-P test and passed it and I thought it was easier than the EMT-B test. Study a lot of the basics and a little of the ALS stuff... Know operations, Haz-Mat, etc.

ems sticker in your car window?

Here's my opinion. DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO without regard to what others think. We are all different and we all like and dislike different things. If you want a sticker, by all means put one on your car. It's YOUR car! If someone give you a hard time about it, the words SCREW YOU should suffice...

I PASSED THE NREMT-P written test

Thank God it's over. I am sick of worrying about it. My test cut off at 80 questions and I passed first try. Now for the practicals in July.

    Intubations in the OR

This is a completely different experience than I had. I was allowed to intubate every patient I came in contact with. I would say that learning how to ventilate a person properly is the biggest thing a paramedic student can take away from the O.R. experience.

    Patient Assessment

On the skill sheets, the beginning is the same regardless if it is trauma or medical. THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE THE SAME: THE BEGINNING Scene safety/BSI MOI/NOI # of patients additional resources needed? C-Spine Then I remembered GMABCP (I actually remembered these letters) THE...

    FISDAP paramedic practice exams?

Are the Paramedic practice exams that are on FISDAP a close representation of what the National Registry test is like? I am currently an EMT-I/99 and maybe that's why the questions seem a bit easy? I've reviewed a lot of the stuff twice. Do you think doing well on them means I will probably do...

Whats your most "rewarding" experience in EMS?

Holding an elderly deaf woman's hand and staying by her bedside for a while at the E.R because she thought she was dying and didn't want to be by herself and her loser son wouldn't leave work to be with her. And YES, he could have left if he wanted.

    40 students in a class?

MAKE IT WORK!!! Every class that I have been in I have found some kind of fault with. If you're not getting the information you need in class take the initiative to find out the answers yourself.

    Is EMT work for me?

Volunteer somewhere.. By doing so you will gain experience BUT you will also run into and befriend people who can help you get your start in EMS as a paid provider. p.s. It's not the vomit that gets me, it's nasty stinkin people who haven't bathed for a month or the guy that I took his boot...

    Nobody dies in an ambulance?

I wish that applied to us. What a tremendous waste of time for EMS providers and takes away our ability to respond to another emergency if called upon. We will transport to the morgue or even the funeral home if requested to do so. Most time the funeral home personnel comes to the location to...

    Hypothalamus/Pituitary, Insulin feedback loops?

I actually finish up May 8th. I understand feedback loops but I REALLY WANT TO understand them. I would love to find a book that take an individual feedback loop and explains each one OR at least group those that are similar but it seems that the books I read are all over the place on...

    Hypothalamus/Pituitary, Insulin feedback loops?

This is exactly what I can't figure out. I can comprehend the hypothalamus- pituitary- thyroid loop, but does the feedback loop that control blood glucose levels also start at the hypothalamus-pituitary area of the brain? If so, what regulatory hormones are secreted?

    Hypothalamus/Pituitary, Insulin feedback loops?

No test tomorrow, I'm actually just sitting here reading and studying some and thought this would be good to study so I will have a better understanding. I'm actually on break.
