Panic Attack? That isn't supposed to happen.

To give them something to focus on. If they are wearing a nasal cannula, they have to stop and concentrate on the O2. Jeff

    BLS in Georgia?

Absolutely correct, GaEmt. The state doesn't recognize the basic unless you work for the FD. Even then, the FD's are sending the basics they have back to school to get their intermediate. Jeff

    BLS in Georgia?

It depends. Where are you thinking about moving to? Atlanta has the typical AMR, etc. Some counties have their own BLS services. Hit me up with where you want to go. I might be able to help. Jeff

Tracie, When you complete your 2nd semester, you will be eligible to sit for the National Registry Basic exam. The only problem is.....in Georgia, they do not recognize the Basic certification. So you have to wait, unfortunately, until after you finish your Intermediate. Georgia...

If you know where Atlanta Motor Speedway is, then Griffin is 5 miles south of there, give or take. I actually live in Stockbridge, just south of Atlanta. I am familiar with Swainsboro, because my father uses Dublin VAMC as his primary doctors. If you really want to succeed at this, while you...

    Desperately looking for encouragement

First of all, congratulations on having the intestinal fortitude to pick yourself up-not once, but twice. I, too have sick parents. I am over halfway into my EMT-I. Having to take care of them is a full time job, in and of itself. Plus having to do ride-alongs and clinicals...well, you get...

Witness an Emergency: Do you stop?

So if I follow you correctly, if I have any sort of EMS-related sticker or license plate on my vehicle,or wear an EMS T-shirt or hat, and I am a licensed and certified EMT, I am obligated to stop and render aid based upon "duty to act"? I am a little fuzzy on this, as we have not covered...
