    Too Fatigued to Care?

Stay another 72 hours and the first 12 don't seem too bad anymore. And lots of caffeine.

Best Ambulance Company to work for in So. Cal

Can we make a new forum rule that you have to specify the city of the company you're asking about when there's multiple of the same name in the state. Which Liberty?

    Which Ems pants??

Go with the 5.11 EMS Pants. There's a few threads on here mentioning them, a quick search will do wonders.

"What could happen if your a medic and you mess up on something?"

Chaz said everything I was going to say. If you're a student doing ride alongs, you have no responsibility and this is on the paramedic, with a license, and a responsibility to his patients. You're just there to learn and experience the job. Don't stress about it. You might have made a mistake...

Best Ambulance Company to work for in So. Cal

Go to Bakersfield and work for Hall. You'll be laughing at the idea of people fretting over which LA IFT company will give them the best experience. Oddly, there's not much grass there and most of it's dead.

    Whats your caffeine of choice?

Monster/rockstar 2 for $3. Stock up at the start of the shift, and try to keep it under 2-3/day.

    Mccormick Ambulance

You apply online, you wait to hear back. You'll do written/skills testing, interview, and hopefully get a second interview before being offered a job. Last time I talked to anyone working there overtime was a plenty. There were guys working 5-6 24s a week, but base scheduling is 10 24s a month.

Can EMTs/Paramedics in FDNY EMS have beards???

FDNY EMS allows beards, but you must soak them in bleach for 5 minutes after every patient contact, and they also require beardies (it's a NYC specific term) to volunteer and buff calls, just to help out the FNDY call volume. After testing out the bleach-decon, you should be able to reach them...

Poll: Phone use in the field

My personal phone won't come out on a call. Our work phones won't download apps. Notes get taken on a glove/notebook/pcr.

    Boston EMS TV Show

High flow O2, backboards, and if I'm feeling really generous, maybe an ice pack. I don't know of a BLS service that has any pain management protocols to speak of, and ALS will be giving morphine or fent.

How to buff calls in NYC?

Ok, you found the one example that seems to support early CPR and early Defib, even if by volunteers or AdamNYC on his way to a dialysis call. But then why doesn't NYC have the highest rate of ROSC, or survival to discharge? Why do the leaders in these statistics exist in places with NO...

How to buff calls in NYC?

Yes, I would rather wait a few more minutes for a higher level of care. There are very few instances where a few minutes will make a difference in EMS. Id rather wait for a qualified Paramedic to respond than some jack-*** Ricky rescue driving around in his POV with lights and sirens, or this...

HELP looking for EMT-B attendant jobs in l.a or orange county

Go work for these guys. They'll take good care of you, and it's a steady pay check until you're ready to upgrade. It's a small BLS IFT company in south LA, but they were always good to me. Fond memories...

    premier vs liberty ambulance

Liberty LA is a larger company with more diversity of ****ty IFTs. That's where I'd go between the two.

    C-Collar for Sleeping

My advice would be suspend the backboard from the ceiling bar for long trips, then buckle yourself onto it so you don't fall off while doing basically the same thing as the ER but at 80mph. That way you're well rested when you have to save butts not kiss them. Don't listen to these nay sayers...

HELP looking for EMT-B attendant jobs in l.a or orange county

Yes, there are small, shady IFT companies in LA who will hire attendant only. You don't want to work there, but if you need a job until you get your drivers license (how long could that take?), AND In-n-out isn't hiring, it's a fulltime job. No, no one will hire you to drive with your permit...

    Paramedic Salary Question

Sac metro FD hires single role medics in the 50k range, with the requirement to promote to engine in 3 years (as told to me by a questionably reliable coworker)
