    Higher Paying/Most Desired Depts.

So it would be perfectly fine to say you are happy being a transport only medic and don't have desire in fire? I don't really get depts like those because it sounds like an insult to the dept saying you want to only stay in the ambulance

    Higher Paying/Most Desired Depts.

Do you have to "promote" to suppression side or can you stay in the ems side. Because sac metro they want them to move to the fire side after 3 yrs I believe.

    Amr ALS

Sure is. Emt and medic pay in riverside hasn't moved in 3 yrs. So I never got a raise in 2 yrs. And they still haven't ratified a contract so it still going on more time with no raises.

    Amr ALS

14.xx an hr for medic. Amr riverside is ALS primarily 911 with occasional IFT. Medics there start at 15.60 hr but don't get OT after 8hrs only after 40 in the week.

    King VS ET

i worked Riv for a a couple of yrs, before coming over to Hall in Kern. I can say Riv is a good place too(especially compared to LA,OC) especially with the new med director but still far below kern co in more ways than I can count in 2 hands. Just don't get complacent , as an emt and a employee...

    King VS ET

Longggggg transfers!!!! Little mom and pop service that runs all the 911 and IFT there. They have a lot of turnover due to new medics going there just to get some 911 exp then leave.

What to do when you need help?

We have a emergency button on HTs and our MDT. We also have codes and regular safety checks we need to go Code 4 on. Once either is activated they will switch everyones traffic to another channel and keep the unit in distress on the main alone so no ones walks on them if they key up.
