Being from nyc the big thing ahout going into FDNY is because of the job security, pension, benefits, 401k, Ect. The pay sucks.the hospitals here are struggling and threat to close. A few already have over the past couple of years. The city (FDNY., NYPD, DSNY,) Will never close, and everyone...

Your cutting it so so close now.. the academy for June starts on the 17th.... You still have to go through your psychological and your.medical.... I personally think they are setting you up for the Sept. Class now...

Don't psych yourself out now...when you get there and your waiting in line your going to be freaking out like me lol just take deep breaths.... Count to ten breathing in and out... Tell yourself "you got this" and you'll be good :)

Wear light clothing... Good shoes!! I wore a Tank top and spandex 3 quarter leggings and new sneakers I broke in a week before at the gym.

Possibly!!! I just took my medical on may 2nd. They told us the summer class starts June 17th however they need to fill their quota of 300 people who will be divided into 3 classes during the 10 week training period there's a 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 3:30-11:30p

Out of 150 only 40 passed. What's your list number? I was told they are rushing this list through and pushing women through faster due to EEO

What I did was the day I got my letter I immediately got a membership to a gym with a stairmaster and went every day to condition my body. I went and did 5 minutes with nothing but myself at 60steps...

This list they are giving the physical every two- three weeks depending on the amount of passes/fails
