Westport EMS sees influx in calls, decrease in volunteers

I like how Kavsuvb keeps trying to make sense of what is fundamentally an inappropriate use of child labor by the community.

Brother, I hate to shatter your dreams, but if you’re already needing a special bus for disabled people and it’s not a financial thing, your dream of prehospital emergency medicine may not be realistic. If it’s some sort of physical, mental or cognitive disability, you literally may not be able...

    Paramedic Certificate to Degree

I did this. Was easy and leveraged my VA benefits to use on bachelors x2 and an MHA instead of Associates alone. Plus I got to hang out with college girls lol. Also lets me wear a gold patch, get $3/hr extra, camouflage myself as smart and grants me a comfortable parachute should my body betray me.

Oh, I’m aware of Darien. It’s interesting. In the sense that yes, some teenagers have done amazing things on the battlefield, at sea, etc. It’s also a massive slap in the face of professional paramedics. “Oh, your job is a high-schoolers playtime internship for medical school applications”...

I just scored a $18,000 raise for my same job. Yaassss. 86k is better than 68k. Btw for a 24/48 or 56 hour average shift multiplying your hourly by 3328 = your gross annual. Guess this is my reward for sticking around through the last two years.

Dunno, but locally they have a bit of a unique reputation. They have a policy on what sort of linen you sleep with, for what that’s worth. Have you considered Lockhart?

    Lockhart EMS (Texas)

We’re hiring paramedics and EMTs for full time and part time, rapid starts available. It’s pretty great here now, we’ve got meaningful “cowboy” medicine in comparison to ATC or other bigger systems, great leadership that is very approachable and engaged and the pay scale just got waayyy better...

Way I see it, problem is that people with no credible opinions or expertise in prehospital emergency medicine have outlandishly stupid ideas as to how to provide services. **stares at Kavsuvb** High school juniors. Really? You want to put a literal 16 year old in charge of resuscitating...
