    Versed/fentanyl sedation

So you would not continue to sedate someone after RSIing them? I could see this if it was a short transport but for transports over 20-40 mins wouldn't you run into problems with pt's bucking the tube?

    Versed/fentanyl sedation

Does anyone use Fent/Ativan for post intubation sedation? Besides the longer lasting effect of Ativan, what would be the benefit of using Ativan over Versed in post intubation sedation?

So is Savannah fire not currently ALS? Or do they just not transport? I had a partner who said he used to work for them as a medic but this was back in like 07 I believe. As far as the protocols, how do they compare to Sussex? (I couldn't find them on the state website)

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

Yes, I do believe you would start on ift but I've had friends who started ift and were told 6 months until they could get on a 911 car, but were then moved to ALS with a few weeks. I can't speak with great authority exactly how San Diego runs but I have heard that the R/M side can be a little...

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

They're the largest ambulance provider in the nation and semi recently acquired the second largest Rural/Metro. They are a gigantic corporation owned by Envision healthcare. They cover the most densely populated areas in San Bernardino County which is the largest county in the nation. They also...

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

This is true but knowing when and where to use the skills/tools and not having access to them is no more helpful to me either! Lol

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

Thanks for such a detailed response! I'm constantly looking for new places and Colorado Springs popped up on my radar and have been curious about it.

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

I worked with a medic who came from Hall not too long ago and he absolutely loved it over there lol SB is a beautiful area but I'll definitely agree that Kern's protocols are better. I want to go to a truly advanced place with field RSI, vents on ground rigs, large formularies etc and don't want...

    Georgia EMS Services

I was looking at Puckett's protocols and they didn't seem too shabby. But I was looking at ones from 2010. Have they changed at all since then? Also I noticed the formulary was quite impressive yet all the meds weren't listed in the treatment protocols. Are some of those meds for CCT or something?

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

I was just kind of curious about the protocols. I noticed the protocols just refer to either AHA references or reference pain medication/antiemetic, etc. I was curious if AMR stocks the rigs with all the meds listed in the allowed medication list or if they just stock bare minimum...

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

I've always wondered what AMR was like in Colorado being that their corporate offices were so close. I feel like it would be harder for them to hide the issues that our so cal divisions have when the head hanchos are a stones throw away lol

    Getting hired AMR Colorado

How did you like AMR Colorado Springs? Was it a pretty good operation with a decent scope of practice and good working environment or was it the typical AMR setup where you're just a number to them?

    AMR Santa Barbara

Very nice thank you for the info! I didn't think I would be able to get on a 24 but there was always a hope lol How was the call volume/aquity? Is it a pretty sleepy division or do you still get some decent calls? Also how long are the average transport times and how bad is the transfer scene...

    AMR Santa Barbara

Wow thanks for such an awesome analysis of AMR SB! How hard is it to transfer into SB from another division? Is it pretty much impossible to get on a 24 as a medic transferring from a different division without putting in multiple years? Also how is the equipment? What kind of vents do you guys...

So how does ALS work in California?

Wow that's crazy you guys don't carry IV zofran for your standard 911 units. Do you guys also only carry 1 analgesic and 1 benzo or do you carry both MS and Fent as well as Versed and Valium (for the 911 non CCT units)? It sounds like you guys have a nice little CCT operation going on up there...

So how does ALS work in California?

Interesting. So when running 911 calls does the RN sit back and assist or do they try and take the lead on scene? Besides having RSI do you have an expanded formulary? Are your LDTs working calls or is it pretty much BLS with a monitor and a pump? Do you recieve a pay increase for being CCT or...

So how does ALS work in California?

Interesting insight into Kern County's protocols/operations. Do you work for Hall and if so is the critical care side totally seperate from the 911 side or do you still have scene calls? I didn't know that your guys ground CCT was that advanced. Thats pretty awesome that you guys have all that...

So how does ALS work in California?

I was told that they do but I know County has them. They're allowed in the optional equipment list for ICEMA
