Because it's easier to draw 2 compatible drugs into one syringe and only have to flush once. Saves time and effort.

    Asymptomatic hypotension?

Remember, treat the pt, not the numbers or machine. She was A/O X 4, and I assume she had good color, no diaphoresis? Did you try a leg BP? She didn't need fluids or epi. What was her HR by the way?

health ins. while in EMT/PARAMEDIC school

First, does your EMT school offer insurance? My nursing school did. Also, you say your disabled and receive health care/insurance, but not why you'll lose it if you work or move. There used to be "cheap" insurance called catastrophic insurance for emergencies. That might be an option.

    COVID VACCINE - The Megathread

Not getting it. Not done my own research, but I've read some news articles where they mention 6 months efficacy. I also think back to SARS, MERS, H1N1 and no vaccines for them, as far as I remember, and they all passed away eventually. And perhaps so will COVID. My 2 cents.

What could I have done differently for this call?

Low says could be due to what's been said: tachypnea and shallow resps. A brown paper bag to slow her down might have helped to improve her says. Obviously, the NRB helped. Don't base your question on what happened after pt got to the hospital. Apples and oranges.

I have a Core and an OHT. Use them semi-frequently. They're useful.

    Tourniquets - Back in Fashion

Couldn't agree more. From another reply, if DP and a compression bandage works, great. But there are times where a TQ is what's required. Yes, I have used them. They work.

    FP-C

If you can write an exam and make money, go for it. I don't know how tests are priced, but regardless, these tests are evidenced-based, just as RN licensing and certification tests are. Exams are not written based on field experience, but on what the cognizant, controlling organization...

    CCPP-C/TP-C Review material Suggestions

It's all open-book, or the class answering the test together; CPR, ACLS, PALS. No more Mega Code. They're pretty much a give-me.

    CCPP-C/TP-C Review material Suggestions

The two worlds of EMS and nursing are far apart, yet close in many ways. Having spent a good deal of time in both, I can understand what you say, and what your detractors say. This conversation is reminiscent of the ongoing argument about degrees. As long as those arguing against both parrot the...
