    Woohooo!

Thanks all. Seems I might run into some issues, but nothing I can't suffer through. Today I got my uniform and such, my boots are too small, but ag, whatever. I have to work my 30 days notice and then I start hopefully on the 16th March. It's middle of month so we have to see what happens...

    Stryker Powerload

Never ever seen this... not in Cape Town. I doubt we or anyone in Cape Town (EMS) uses this, I can imagine how much these type of devices must be to 'service' or 'look after'

Metro EMS (ZA) is currently recruiting

Paramedics (any level) do not get paid very well in ZA. We (most of us anyways) look at it this way - "you do it for the love of it"

Metro EMS (ZA) is currently recruiting

Remember to get the Z83 document here: http://www.dpe.gov.za/res/Z83ApplicationForm.doc or http://www.capegateway.gov.za/Text/2004/3/application_for_employment_z83.pdf Follow the instructions carefully!!! you can't e-mail it! You must go hand it in yourself or send it via couriers - my advice...

Can EMT B work on a heli?

In South Africa, for AMS, you have to be ILS (EMT-I) and have done their orientation thingy to work on the helicopter or fixed wing. ER24 or Netcare 911, I'm not at all sure of that. I would love to work on the helicopter! :) Never been on one.

    Triaging

No, just give a break down what YOU think the 8 types of injuries would be to classify a patient being given the P1 status... If we had to go on, I could say, more ambulances can be called... but ya... lol!

    Triaging

Bus accident (for example) Your paramedic arrived first, maybe 30 seconds before you did, he is now telling YOU (BLS) to go and triage patients that are considered P1's
