    c-collar for 7 month old?

You're right about that, Shock Trauma is a PARC- Primary Adult Resource Center. I believe their minimum age (technically they can accept any patient; it's the consulting physicians discretion when you consult anyway) is 15...correct me if i'm wrong fellow MDers... Now at Hopkins, a Level 1...

    Pre-attached Electrodes

That's the problem I typically have with it; i find it easier to untangle wires w/o electrodes. LOL of course, they address everything! -- My next question for those that don't preattach their leads... Do you place the electrode on the patient's skin first or on the lead?

    Pre-attached Electrodes

In recent threads about lead wires, etc, got me to thinking. As a paramedic student & EMT, i have seen many different agency setups...My question is, do you pre-attach your electrodes to your leads? I have seen both. I have heard anecdotes about reduced efficacy/stickyness if you pre-attach...

    Littmann Scope Question

Thanks, has anything similar ever happened to anyone before? With my last littmann (cheaper one), the ear buds frequently came off (even when i replaced them w/ new ones)......nothing is more painful then a metal earpiece... But in all seriousness, it's a pain when you pull it out to...

    From E911 to NG911..

oy, i can see it now... Some one is going to see a MVA on the side of the road, text 911 and end up rear-ending the person in front of them...[domino effect = many car pileup] Or potential 'abuse' of the system. Texting when calling is (physically for the caller) more...

    Littmann Scope Question

So I'm having a problem w/ my Littmann Master Classic II. If i place it in a bag, pocket, etc, the cover over the diaphragm and protective rim comes off frequently. Does anyone have a solution/recommendation? I hate pulling it out and it fell off (especially for fear of losing it on a call...

    MCI at Indiana State Fairgrounds

am i wrong? Public safety yes; civilians, maybe. I'm sure they all had good intentions, but ideally, they should've cleared the scene (as it seemed from the original video there was an evacuation due to weather (correct me if I'm wrong)... Once the LEO's got there, they took crowed control...

    Oral Glucose question...

it varies... having never done it i will say anecdotally... Well, the fine state of Maryland does permit the administration of oral glucose for the unknown [etiology] unconscious/AMS pt (BLS level), applying between the gum and teeth. At the NR level...no. Oral glucose is contraindicated...

    MCI at Indiana State Fairgrounds

For those that didn't listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHjWv7B4PAs&feature=player_embedded#at=195 Sounded like it was handed very well from a management perspective. Glad to see some people take their MCI/Triage training seriously.

    Tips for holding c spine?

Though like i said in my previous post, I wouldn't advocate it for the state test, but how would it be considered a Significant Action (not "instant fail" in MD), provided the student maintains inline stabilization without compromising c-spine...no where on the testing sheet does it say the...

    Tips for holding c spine?

If if wasn't a state test, i'd say use your knees/thighs if you're going to be down for a while, plus you can maintain the airway (to some degree) edit: just don't get too close, for sexual assault purposes..

    From E911 to NG911..

Has anyone heard of this? Have it in place? http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/mobile/08/11/text.911.mashable/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 Are people going to start texting instead of calling 911? Don't get me wrong, it has it's place, but is the dispatcher going to text back CPR instructions? :cool...
