It will take up to 6 months to receive the official Ambulance Drivers Cert. Mine took that long (received it in June 2010, tested January 2010) and this info is from DMV HQ. Because of the budget cutbacks, Sacramento is short staffed.
However, if you pass your written test at your local DMV...
I'm currently employed doing armed private security patrol work in Los Angeles county. I have my accreditation with Orange County EMS when I was seeking work with an ambu company (didn't pan out -_-).
My question is, if I should come across a client who needs and requests medical intervention...
I live in southern California. I completed my EMT-B course in December 2009 and was nationally certified in the same month. I've had a total of 2 job interviews with reputable ambulance companies (IFT and 911). The hiring pool is very large and the number of actual job openings is very low...

I've heard good things about the ROP...
I'm a newly minted EMT-B too. Right now the job market is scarce. I live in Orange County, CA and have been job hunting for 3 months. I have had a total of 2 interviews even though I've applied everywhere (LA, SD, IE, etc.).
I was turned down from from # 1 ambo company and the 2nd told me...
I did. I sent the Director of Operations an email the same day thanking him for his time and consideration. I also let him know I was still very much interested in the position. We'll see how things pan out.
How are things going for you?
Follow up to my interview story: I had the interview last week and I thought I performed well. I had to take a multiple choice test and I was asked a local protocol question during the interview.
I was told they would contact me in 90 days or less once they got another group together for...
