But, you can do other things-- as you mentioned in your previous post. There are some cities here in the states that will not employ EMT-B's but, private transport services that will. Again, subby mentioned "work" with an "EMT-B" cert. If transports or "patient transfer services" are all...
Be blunt as you like, it's no sweat off my back :) I'm not the one who went to NY from Canada to get a cert. If they are now, as you say, employed at a "patient transfer service" than perhaps that's all they wanted to begin with. If the services in the area are private they may even pay decent...
YES!!!!!!!!!! I'm excited!! Thanks SO much for the information!!! :beerchug:
I can't argue with you there :) The scene with the obese woman and the stretcher was probably one of the funniest scenes I have ever seen. Half of its humor came from the fact that it touched on RL.
What I mean is these people apparently got their cert in New York and lived in Canada to work. The guy told me that they did it because "it was cheaper" to go to school in NY than in Canada. The whole conversation started because we were all talking about BC. Anyhow, there must be SOME kind of...
There IS a reciprocity process. Someone from one of our units comes all the way from Buffalo, NY. He told me of two people in his EMT-B classes who were from Canada and commuted every day over the border.
Subby may want to check reciprocity for New York state in relationship to Canada.
I'm hoping that it really is a movie :) I would absolutely LOVE to see a real film on EMS with some serious drama and an ability to relate to the characters (it's a little hard to relate to Nicholas Cage or "Speed" from Mother, Jugs and Speed). I've been looking everywhere but have only found...
I hope this is true, if so I am very excited about this!! :) The movie is about Freedom House Enterprises...the nations first paramedics who were black.

The link has it on TBA so Im thinking this ISN'T the documentary that was released...
I ALWAYS ask for help with an morbidly obese patient, even if it means waiting for a lift assist. I don't care what my partner says.:blush: Better that than ending up with "2" patients. Dispatch may have the weight ahead of time so you can call for back up if its an emergency. If its an...
The article mentions noone was hurt (from chasing him) so we have to assume that's the case. Problem is the guy may have struck the officers in blind grief--his house was burning and his pets were dying. I can't tell you how many times I've been struck by half crazed patients and even family...
