I used Chantix, too. It ruins the smoking experience. There's no pleasure reward from the nicotine, so you're left with nothing but the inhalation of hot smoke. And the smoke seemed to taste different to me. Smoking became pointless.

That's an unreasonable policy, IMO. Smoking isn't a moral or legal wrong. As long as it doesn't affect patient care or the company's image, it shouldn't be your employer's business. OTOH, smokers are not a protected class under the law, so it's legal to discriminate against you.

I recently had my first day of work as an EMT. My advice - make sure you talk to your patients. Introduce yourself. Make eye contact. Tell them what you're doing before you do it.
