    Reno FD single role, REMSA.

So far I've done: Multiple IFT gigs; 2 years as an EMT in a high volume urban; going on 4 1/2 years as an EMT in a rural system; ICU and ER techl; urgent care tech for a bit. I really have no interest in going back to the city. Doing my internship and registry for Paramedic over this summer/fall.

Nothing I'm looking at anytime soon, so I'll have time to get some experience. Just keeping options in mind.

    Reno FD single role, REMSA.

The appeal for the REMSA Tonopah gig was the community paramedic role as well. I was looking at some of the real estate sites out of curiosity and there were a handful of studio and 1 bed condos that appeared like they'd be in the ball park of affordability with the VA loan. I'm planning on...

    Reno FD single role, REMSA.

Thanks for that. I work a rural Colorado district with similar transport times and volume, so something I'm not unfamiliar with. I'm crazy, but that kind of system and schedule have a lot of appeal to me. I love my district and the region, so if I can stay out here it would be great but always...

Curious if you have any insight on what that would mean for REMSAs other divisions/work outside of the Reno 911 contract? Not in a big hurry to move out of my current gig anytime soon, but their Rural Paramedic gig they run in Tonopah/Nye caught my eye.

    911 EMT Jobs near Denver

Happy things have worked out! A few of the ones in my medic class got put with Falck for internship. Not sure if they know what they're getting into.

    Paramedic Certificate to Degree

I wish there was a reason to do it but it's really not incentivized to do so. My state [CO] you can apply for a license over a certificate with a relevant bachelors but doesn't add any additional scope. Some municipal departments might pay more with a degree but no change in responsibility or...

    Paramedic Certificate to Degree

You'd probably have to look into the individual colleges in your area. You'd likely have to take some additional general electives to satisfy an associates degree with credit for your paramedic. I had enough credits from previous endeavors that the pre-reqs, my medic courses and taking one math...

Looking to become an emt don’t know where to start

I came into the career around 30, so some advice from my experience: Apply to one of the hospitals around you. Most have some kind of entry level CNA/PCA/PCT role that they often provide training for. You'll do things like take vitals for the nurses, help with patient care, maybe some...

    Trauma Shears Recommendations?

I think mine are going on 3-4 years and holding up pretty well. I think I got them when I started working ER out here. They did their fair share of Orthoglass duty and still going strong on the truck.

Got through my last ER clinical for the first semester of Paramedic School yesterday. Finally get to enjoy a tiny break from the chaos.

Do you own or rent your home?

Technically both 🤣 Got sick of the high rent and ****ty landlords, so I bought an old 5th wheel off craigslist and rent an RV lot for $600.

    Florida Curious

Not to resurrect old threads, curious for anyone in the region that might have a better understanding of ACFRs recent CBA and restructuring? My medic school is on-board with us doing our internship portion out of state if we have an agency willing to do it. I've been looking pretty hard at...
