Is it true everything a provider does is an additional cost? IE Oygen applied,spinal immobilization, IV started, medication given etc etc.

I have a PHTLS 7th edition book, that is in nearly flawless shape. I only used it for the two day course, and I didn't even take the DVD out of the package. It goes for 60.00 new. I'm looking for 50 obo.

My agency is probably one of the best in the tri-state area for a EMT-B. We have the best equipment,best buildings,online medical control, and constant free classes.....................BUT we are also one of the lowest paid in the tri state area. Gotta take the good with the bad.

Interesting discussion, especially the point of comparing the stretcher to oxygen,immobilization, etc. I was actually told before, not putting a pt. on a stretcher is considered insurance fraud when it comes to billing.

So what's everyone's position on transporting pt. on captains chair/bench seat instead of stretcher? I know people who are strictly against it and others who use it more than the stretcher.

Incorrect, pain management can be used on a variety of things, it just needs approval by med control. I've witnessed Morphine given in the field for abdominal pain by ALS.

Is it legal to transport two pt's in one ambulance from different vehicles in a motor vehicle accident?

I was never taught nor corrected for putting the implied conset in the CC box when the pt. isn't verbally able to state it. Is this a private for profit service? Sounds like a billing issue.

Well, I would view NONE in the CC box as implenting its a public assist with no complaint/or injury. If someone is in cardiac arrest, its implied conset without a physical DNR present so I write their CC as being pulseless and apnec.

If they can verbally state their CC i put it in. If they can't, I look for what their medical emergency is. IE: Pulseless and apenic for a cardiac arrest. IE: unconcious/unresponsive for an OD or ETOH.
