    Appendectomy for Paramedics

Okay so I was simply expressing my opinion, something unheard of these days. But I digress, I'm no paramedic. So sorry to even bother, have a nice ego trip =]

    Appendectomy for Paramedics

Appendectomy in the field? I would say only under extreme circumstances. When a patient is opened up in any type of invasive procedure they are exposed to the external environment which is loaded with bacteria and other organisms. Not saying we don't clean our trucks to the best of our ability...

    Air in Lines?

I was always taught that as well, (that it would take at least the entire length of tubing unprimed) in order to cause an air embolism. Yet undoubtedly, it's better to err on the side of caution as with anything else. It's certainly not difficult to flush the tubing so I always flush it out...

Stokes-Adams huh.. when I see this I'm compelled to think of Cheyne-Stokes respirations, ha! AEMT Registry Prep

Unfortunately, due to regulations regarding NREMT testing and discussion of test material I'm unable to elaborate much. That being said, two days ago I tested at the AEMT level and passed both psychomotor and cognitive exams. The cognitive exam seemed to be geared toward overall knowledge of...

I've also heard to expect anything and everything. I'm not too nervous, I've worked hard this semester and although it's definitely a big step, I'm confident that my training will be sufficient.

    Nraemt

Hey all, I'm currently waiting to take my NRAEMT examinations. Since AEMT is an unfamiliar title to me, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the whole thing. In a nutshell, I'm wondering what the main concentrations are on the cognitive examination. The way I understand it, it...
