If we are timed out and in a hotel room they will clock us out. It sucks but I understand it from a company stand point. They pay for the hotel and we can submit receipts for food. It is pretty rare for us but it does happen. If we are near a base then they will allow us to be in service as a...
In my interview they had a medical and trauma scenario. It was a septic patient, and trauma scene call with RSI/setting up the vent. If you walk into there with a good handle on pressers, pain management/sedation, RSI, and vent management you will do just fine.
Thats how it is.. completely normal. I felt that way as a new intermediate, a new paramedic, and now a new flight paramedic. It takes months to get comfortable with an ALS assessments/skills, decision making, and delegating. Some things will take longer then that. Now is the time to be looking...
Dude dont sell yourself short! Everyone started out green! You can truly do anything you put your mind and heart into.
Tigger hit it right on the head. Work for a system that has a a good FTO or FTEP program. The service I worked at previously had a 4 month FTEP program.
If they are hemodynamically stable then by all means dont put you, the patient, or the public at risk by going code 3. I dont care if they are in a complete block, If they are stable just let it ride man.

Austin Travis County EMS is the 911 contract. Very busy service and a great place to gain experience, especially if you are an EMT. If you get your paramedic you will have to work in a BLS capacity for a...
Most places will tell you if there will be a written test, a skills/practical test, or both. It is common practice for them to ask you clinical or job specific questions during an interview. For instance. "You have a 300 lb 56 yo male with crushing chest pain on the third floor of an apartment...
There are a lot of good services in the Houston Area. As a paramedic Harris county ESD1, MCHD, and Pearland FD all have great protocals and are a good place to work. I dont know if they hire EMTS?
