Hated it when people insisted that the limb leads have to go on the limbs. They are called that because the electrode used to be a bucket of

saline that you put the limbs in. What's important is the relative position of the electrode to the positions heart: above, below, right, or left.

I have frequently seen ECGs that are torso-positions limb leads and the standard placement, but never compared it on the same patient. What I did notice was that I couldn't tell the difference between the two or so I thought.

    Torso-position limb lead placement causes:
    - frontal axis is more rightward
    - decrease R wave amplitude in high lateral leads and septal leads.
    - decrease S wave in low lateral leads.
    - increase R wave amplitude in inferior leads

I am signed to do the NREMT psychomotor exam on 7/31. I'm waiting for my status to change on nremt.org so I can sign up for the cognitive exam which I'll probably do before the psychomotor exam.
Was going to share this article with a friend in regard to NPA size, but I feel like the size recommended is too small.
Dreamed of me working at another company and having regret leaving my current. I've applied 9 times and have no desire to work there now.

I don't know if I will go or not. I am actually catching something like a cold so I am not even sure if physically I want to go just cause of that. If I was feeling well I am still not sure though.

I was hoping to go back to college during the Summer, but the class schedules make it hard with work.

I haven't taken an assessment test yet so maybe that will open up some more opportunity so I can actually take classes during the summer. I think since summer is shorter the classes are more frequent making it harder for me to sign up. I am only free Monday-Wednesday and any night after 5 pm until September.
I wonder how many of my co-workers browse this site and know who I am. I am probably finding new ways to hurt my popularity at work.
Another rough day at work. I don't feel like I can work there much longer. Almost 0% energy.
I finished signing up to go to community college during the Summer. What a weird time to start going, but I keep putting it off forever.

Went to the pediatric department last night. Tonight I'll be going to the Labor & Delivery Department.

He really drills the idea of serial EKG (q15). So far in the parts I have read, he'll show an EKG that is almost normal ("class 4") and then show an obvious STEMi ("class 1a") way later.

I also think his explanation of the two theories for ST elevation, hyperacute T-waves, and inverted T-waves are short, sweet, and simple.

It's weird that he says lead V1-2 are placed ICS 3, V3 ICS 4, and V4-6 ICS 5. I'm not sure if that was a mistake, if that's how it was done awhile ago, or if he really does it that way. I think placing them at ICS 3 is consider a common mistake and it gives V1-2 a pseudo RBBB morphology rSr'.
Learned about QRS alternans. Always associated electrical alternans with pericardial effusions. QRS alternans is with AVNRT or ortho AVRT.
