    Didn't know about Cabrera and Chapman's sign indicating MI in LBBB. Cabrera - notching S anterior leads. Chapman - notching R lateral leads.

    Got to see a phase 4 block for my second time. The same patient also had a trifascicular block too!

    Used the Zoll RescueNet TabletPCR. It's difficult to navigate through because you cannot use tab/enter and there are not scroll bars.

    Don't like that it doesn't tell you what are the close call rules as you do it (MEDS and ImageTrend highlight 'em red to tell you what you need to do). I get it. Don't want crews to do the bare minimum.

    But at the same time, it is a pain to have to jump around the PCR when you are attempting to submit it.

    My partner called out. No replacement. Nothing for me to do. Might go home early. I like getting an unexpected day off with 4 hours pay.

    Interviewed with another company. I've interviewed for EMT positions at this company many times and never got the job.

    An update on this. The interview was a "clinical" interview like "Tell us the difference between left and right sided heart failure." The psychomotor exam was a FUBAR patient. 38 YOM GCS 3, laceration on the head, VT with a pulse, signs of an opiate OD.

    I also did a pediatric assessment (1 YOX signs of an anaphylactic reaction: swelling of the face, raspy cry, and urticaria after ingesting milk) and a mega code (SVT -> administered adenosine -> vfib arrest -> VT without a pulse -> sinus tachycardia with a pulse. Discussed 12-leads. It was pretty intense.

    I will be doing a physical agility test with them this coming Thursday. At previous companies, I have gotten a conditional offer letter before doing the physical agility so I suspect that I will probably start working at this company. I am intrigued by their ridiculous tests.

    The interview was so so. I brought the appropriate paperwork and wore tie. I don't feel like I said anything spectaticular though.

    I just learned that Europeans might say BM instead of blood sugar or blood glucose. BM stands for Boehringer Mannheim.

    In the US, I frequently see the acronym BM used for bowel movement. Pleasant.

    I'm guessing BM is/was a common glucometer brand (analogous to how some call BVMs Ambu-bags)?

    I just posted my interpretation of what I consider a challenging ECG. I hate being publicly wrong so I hope I am right.

    I wonder if you could use pleth waves to calculate a more accurate MAP than one of the standard formulas eg MAP = DBP + PP/3.

    So supposedly the beginning of the pleth wave to the dicrotic notch is the systolic phase. The dicrotic notch to the beginning of the next pleth wave is the diastolic phase.

    Couldn't you count the number of little boxes (on ECG paper) to figure out how many little boxes are in the systolic phase and how many little boxes are in the diastolic phase to equal. Multiple the number of little boxes during the systolic phase by the SBP.

    Multiple the number of little boxes during the diastolic phase by the DBP. Add the two numbers together. Divide by the total number of little boxes to equal the MAP for that heart rate.
