Before I start my job I have to take the "Hazmat FRO" course. I see this is $80! Do employers help pay for this, or is this something else that has to come out of pocket?
What about the background check and drug tests?
Thanks for any info!
I just wanted to double check on here that this is all I need to receive an ambulance drivers license in California:
Medical Examiners Paperwork filled out
Live Scan fingerprints done, with the paperwork filled out
Pass the written test
Pay the fee
Thanks!
I'm interested in finding a job in a hospital using my EMT certification. Is the main job title I'm looking for "ER tech"? Or are there other ones? And does anyone have any specific experience with ER tech/general EMT jobs at hospitals in the bay area, specifically Santa Clara County?
Thanks!
I've been filling out some job applications, and I've seen several ask what my salary expectation is. I'm just graduating college and this will be my first EMT-B job in California Bay Area. I've seen the mean salary is around $16 for EMT-B, does this seem accurate? I really have no idea what to...
I don't have my ambulance drivers license yet and I want to apply to jobs while still in college and hopefully secure one right after I graduate. Are companies (California Bay Area) picky about you having the license before they hire?
Thanks!
i have my state EMT certification good for another two years but my NREMT is expiring soon. I've never worked as an EMT before so I can't re certify unless I let it expire and then retake the test, which I don't want to do if it's not necessary. Basically, will I be able to get a job with just a...
I'm EMT-B certified and my certification was about to expire over the summer so I did a 24 hour EMT refresher course, sent in my payments and got a new certification for two more years (I haven't been practicing at all, but will start this summer). Anyway, the NREMT website shows that my...
I'm basically looking for a summer job so I'm not confident an ambulance company would hire me for just that, but also, I have more interest in working in a hospital setting.
As for the ER tech position... I'm quite new to all of this, so would I basically just go on a hospital website, and...
I'm an undergraduate university student and I got my EMT certification last summer. This coming summer I want to get a job in a hospital utilizing my EMT certification. I'm having trouble finding what jobs I could possibly apply for at places like Stanford Hospital, Kaiser, etc. What should I...
