I just saw this job advertised at http://www.facebook.com/emergencycareny -

We are currently hiring NYS Certified Lab Instructors and NYS Certified Instructor Coordinators. In addition, we are seeking NYS Certified EMT-B's & EMT-P's who are presently working on an ambulance and have received an 85% or above on their most current BLS NYS Written Exam. Respond via e-mail today to jobs@emergencycareny.com. Please include your name, address, telephone # and qualifications. Resumes accepted but not required.

Has anyone worked as an EMT instructor? What's it like?

I'm in the midst of being accredited as an Instructor/Coordinator, and work as a lab instructor for a local training program. I find it rewarding, and it has helped me hone my pedagogical skills enormously. Start by becoming a CPR instructor... then move elsewhere...

Thanks emt.dan I think I'd find it rewarding too. How long have you been working as a lab instructor?

I think I'll check it out further. I like the idea of working for Emergency Care Programs - that's where I got my own EMT-B cert, and I liked the place a lot.
