Will start an EMT course next week. NYC

Hi everybody.

I just wanted to introduce myself to the members of this forum. I live in New York City, and after all the madness that has happend in the past several days, I have finally made the decision to enroll in an EMT course and to peruse EMS as a possible career.

I recently graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Economics. And have done some volunteering in the ED at new York Presbyterian hospital during my free time. I've spent some time preparing stretchers for the ems guys coming in from the ambulance bay. But I have no formal medical training other than a quick course in CPR and AED.

I've been lurking on the forum, and only know two people in person working in ems. I figured this would be a great way to learn more about the profession and to make contacts with others who work as EMTs and Paramedics.
