Who runs 911 in SW Michigan?

The title pretty much says it all. I'm a Basic that's worked rural Oregon and Urban Los Angeles within the last 5 years. I'll be attending med school in Kalamazoo, so I'm looking at something per diem mostly just to bring in a little bit more income for the family and as a break (I know, I'm crazy - I get it). So I'm just wondering how the 911 system works up there - as in are there any non-fire rigs that run the calls?

There is quite a bit of private 911 in Michigan. Life EMS runs up around Kalamazoo, and they are pretty good from what I hear. I have occasionally gotten to talk with Life crews, and they all seem very content with Life (pun intended). I have no clue how flexible Life is in terms of scheduling thou. I don't know if Life is this way, but many 911 units in Michigan are Medic/Medic, AEMT/Medic.
