What is FI?

Lately, especially on my rides during class, I've been hearing a few EMTs talk about "FI". It's always in a, "hey, have you done FI yet?" or "You'll just go straight through FI" sort of way.

I've been meaning to ask, but it always comes up in conversations I'm not a part of, and I don't want to sound rude .

So... What is FI?

i only know of two medical meanings for the abbreviation FI.

1) as ag said, field internship. this is the only one that makes sense.

2) Fraction of Inspired o2- not even close to relevant in this case.

of course, asking the people who speak these unknown abbreviations to define them for you is totally out of the question.
