How about trying the internet to look up some departments in your area !!! That would be my first idea.

From talking to my dad (he's been an EMT for over 20 years), it's fairly typical for EMTs in other states. The big difference might be more dirt roads and trailers. 
Where are you going to school and when are you going? I'll be at East Central Community College in Decatur (way south of you - near Meridian) this Summer.

hey man, welcome......Schooling was awesome!! I just got out of school, and after it was all said and done, i cant wait to start!!! as for pay, it ranges from place to place and who you are working for!!! Good luck!
