It seems like with as many of us have the same concern (I know my agency has a tremendous # of people who feel this way) we should find the appropriate way to make our lawmakers and local governments aware.

Anyone can wind up there.

Lose your marbles => lose your home. It can be from heredity or birth event, it can be chemicals, it can be injury, but if you lose your ability to make money, properly conduct your affairs, or control your behavior, you wind up homeless.

Agreed it is very sad. When I lived in Austin I got used to all the young "homeless" kids and became very jaded about the whole thing. Now that I'm in Houston and I've had to deal with truly homless folks who have lost everything sometimes through no fault of their own it is very sobering. Even the folks who are on the street because of addiction problems get to me, especially the females. Being homeless as a male is tough but being homeless as a woman must feel like one unending night of hell.
