Recently, my service just started carrying TXA. I am pretty excited because it seems like such a great drug (for now at least). But I am curious as to more applications than just trauma, IE: GI bleed, esophageal varices, hemmorragic stroke, blood thinner OD. And I am also curious as to how TXA will work with other treatment options outside of just trauma, such as blood transfusions (mainly FFP's), administration of TXA to someone on anticoagulants, and long term use .

I'm really interested to see a pediatric study. TXA is the newest fad of the last couple of years in the Central Ohio market. Apparently, according to some recent CE I took, some units in Afghanistan have been giving TXA to pediatric trauma patients, and apparently they have had far better success rates on pediatric patients than adults. I've been pretty impressed with the adult studies and the literature on stuff like Crash-2, etc.
