Ice Cold Salene + Corticosteroids = Thoughts?

I read about them doing this with an NFLer not too long ago and his recovery was remarkable. They started the cold salene immediately and kept him hypothermic for 24 hours.

I went to a short lecture (outside of class) on trauma in school, and one of the points they had brought up was that corticosteroid use wasn't really having the long term effects they thought when used in spinal trauma... I don't remember the details but I'll see if I can look it up for you.
