Yeah, this is just me venting again.

Last week I found blood on two back boards on the truck, the lucas, and the IO. This might have all been from one call but I doubt it very much. This was multiple calls across multiple shifts. All items were cleaned. Crews were informed in writing about the state of the trucks. We have a state inspection in the next 2 weeks.

I arrive for my last shift and we quickly found a large area of blood (at least 5" square) on the top of the medic bag.

It makes me want to say "screw it, they don't care, why should I?" But I know that is the wrong damned thing to say.

Honestly, this also bugs the hell outta me.
I'm not OCD when it comes to cleaning, but I make sure that if anyone takes over the ambulance from me, they are not going to find issues with it.
Yes, I'll miss some spots here and there, but I do my level best to keep my ambo clean.
I treat the ambulances as if they were my own, or as if I'd be happy to transport a family member in them.

Some people just don't bloody care!

If it is on your boards, check your straps!

Pour a little peroxide on them and watch them fizz. I hate that. Ditto people leaving blood on the glucometer, steering wheel, and the latch of every frigging first aid kit in the world. >:(

Thank you for reminding me, I think there is actually some on my one from a diabetic coma call I did this past weekend.

Ended up having to call for ILS backup (EMT-I) to slap up a IV line for dextrose. :(
