Recently I moved from central CT where I was trained as an EMT-B and firefighter, to Eastern RI and am running into a couple issues. Most of them I am working out and I think I can tackle them no problem, but the big issue I am seeing is getting a EOA/PASG course without having to take the EMT class all over again. Any pointers from anyone in the area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's not a class really, any I/C can teach it to you and sign off on it. I'm going to be doing it with the volunteer service I am starting to volunteer for.

The RI OEMS website has a list of I/Cs (Instructor / Coordinators) and their contact info.

Start calling them. You'll be better off contacting people that appear independent. I/Cs in southern RI are your best bet. Especially if your check clears.

I'll PM you if I hear about an I/C with a pending class.

Safety Program Consultants (www.4spci.com) in Taunton teaches them semi-regularly as well.

I had heard a rumor that RI was going to drop the EOA / MAST class and move over to a purely National Registry certification; guess that went the way of requiring Cardiacs to carry an ACLS certification...

Cardiacs don't have to carry an ACLS card:wacko:
