Hello all,

I completed EMT-B education at a California community college and got NREMT certification in 2011. I never worked and my certification expired in 2013. I'm now interested in reattaining NREMT certification.

Is there any way for me to regain my certification without taking another full EMT-B education program?

Thanks.

If it's been three years since it expired, you are almost certainly going to have to take the course again. I think there's only a one year grace period.

You're going to have to redo the course

You have to redo the course. The actual EMT corse completion cert that you get from a JC is only valid for 2 years in the state of CA. If you had your county card and lapsed it under a year you can look up your local protocols or call the EMS office to get recert info. Same for NREMT. But if you never got your NREMT and county card in the first place, then yes you have to redo the course.
