Recently I let my Indiana state EMT-B cert expire thinking all I needed was my national to keep working in this state.

Apparently I do need my state cert to work. Had to learn that the hard way.

Anyways I sent the "re-certification based off of previous certification form" downstate. I received the waiver to take the written exam in which is now completed. I've also completed the practical skills validation.

My question is... do they send you a new card through the mail or is there something else I need to do online?

I haven't gotten any responses yet from the appropriate people I've sent emails to.

Thanks in advance for your help. By the way I'm new to this site. I've been lurking for a while and it seems like an awesome community.

If you like, I'll show your post to my EMT instructor (I'm in the Ivy Tech Lawrence campus EMT-B class) on Monday, if you haven't gotten an answer by then.

You should get some sort of notification of passing the test. They are no longer sending out cards, but you can print one out from the state web site.

The acadis portal lacks a "renew cert button". :(

I've been sending out several emails downstate. I've even been talking to some of my instructors.

No response as of yet with the emails. I guess flooding their mail box doesn't get to them.

It's been over 2 weeks since I've taken the skills practical and just a few days since I've taken the written test.

I don't remember the process of obtaining a card taking this long before. I remember when I was initially certified it was a relatively quick process.

Probably just need to be patient. I really want to start to get working again.
