I searched, but couldn't find anything close enough to what I need. I'm a volunteer which means I carry my own supplies and get a restock from the ambulance if I use anything, but it varies from event to event. This is my first time doing medical for this particular event where they don't supply equipment past O2 cylinder and backboard. It's a stage rally race, which means that the cars are on country roads and ambulances are about 15+ min out or may not be able to get to us based on the stage condition.
C-spine, trauma and splinting are my primary concerns, but since some of the racers are older, medical needs to be considered as well. I currently have a Blackhawk STOMP bag that I got for super cheap, but I fear it may be a little too big for my needs.
What I'm looking for is a basic "must have" list from those that have dealt with motorsports accidents. Please keep in mind that I'll be the only one there for a bit. I just want to make sure I don't overlook anything and since I haven't had to use my skills at a rally yet (knock on wood) I haven't been able to find out what I need without having a fully-stocked ambulance 15 feet away.
If anyone knows of any good med bags (preferably backpack-style) that are smaller than the STOMP, but still hold enough I'd appreciate the recommendation.
Thanks! Oh, and if anyone is in the dark about what rally is, search for rally crashes on youtube and you'll see what I need to be prepared for.
