Question: Rural twp. starting a MFR program

My rural twp. is putting into place a MFR program. Most members are firefighters. All of us have just passed our National Registry Exams and are now licensed. My question is this; Are there national or state SOGs or SOPs we need to follow? We are in Michigan.
We are meeting with our county medical services rep soon and I would like to know everything that needs to be in place before we get underway and be able to ask him pertinent questions.
It's all a little overwhelming to me, but I want to make sure all my bases are covered before I set eyes on my first patient.

Im not too sure what your local regulations are regarding First Responders, but the agency that I am employed by has first responders both paid, and volunteer.

Myself and other full time employees all have full sets of equipment ( depending on your certification level) either BLS, or ALS. equipment to includel; a full compliment of BLS gear, simple airways, Oxygen therapy, Intubation equipment, 1st, and 2nd round cardiac drugs, diabetic drugs, allergic reaction drugs, resp. drugs, IO, FLuids, and a monitor.

When off duty you may chose to respond anywhere within the confines of our territory, with full delegated protocol just as if you were on the truck.

The program is very successfull. I average about 4-6 calls a week as a first responder ( there are people who do a lot more).

But they are very successfull programs and can be very beneficial if set up and maintained appropriately.
