Hey everyone!

There is a job fair for quite a few positions for one of our bigger ambulance companies in two days, they will be doing on spot interviews. I was curious if anyone had some advice on interviews or what to expect as this will be my first since I've finished my course for EMT-Basic. I will be dressed in full attire as far as nice shirt and slacks with a tie naturally but I'm really not sure how an EMS interview works.

Sadly I have no experience but I just got set up volunteering in the ER for one of our Trauma centers to get a feel for the life, hopefully some doctors will let interact with patients since most my work will not be hands on from what the HR woman told me. I have not started volunteering( that will be in 3 weeks) but should I include that information at the interview?

Any advice would be great and I would be very thankful :)

Get a hair cut, shave if needed. Be able to answer simple questions about yourself and maybe some simple BLS questions like " If med control tell you to give 3 nitro tablets to a patient with a BP of 60/40, what should you do?"

interview

Dress for success, first impressions count even at a job fair.
study local protocols
be able to answer questions intelligently
Study some Med-term
know what your long term goals are and how you plan to accomplish them

I should know the results in a few days, thanks for the advice pretty much went the way you guys predicted. Another interview at the casino for an EMT spot in 2 days, I rather have ambu but from what they told me I would do interfacility for a year, whereas the casino job is highly first responder. which seems like better experience.
