Patient threatens paramedics with handgun

Two ambulance paramedics were threatened with a handgun when they went to treat a man they believed was unconscious in his car on the Gold Coast last night.

The 25-year-old driver was found unconscious and slumped over the steering wheel of his car parked on Pine Ridge Road in Biggera Waters about 6.20pm.

Hmmm....scene safety? I'm much more likely to wait for PD or to poke the guy with a stick from a distance rather than hop in and treat right away. Been in a similar situation with a baseball bat rather than a hand gun, guess I learned my lesson
