A married paramedic who faked emergency calls to help his lover meet government targets has been suspended by a disciplinary panel.

Simon Surplice, 46, told his mistress - an ambulance service duty manager - he would 'do anything to help her statistics' before logging faked life-threatening incidents.

It is nice to see that in the nearly forty years since 1975 and the establishment of the National Ambulance Officers Training School not to mention the four to six years it takes to become a Paramedic or Intensive Care Paramedic ... the media still refers to "Ambulance Drivers"
