Hello All,

I had a quick question regarding paramedic education. I was curious to know if there are any specific bachelor degree programs out there that offer a degree in paramedicine that anyone would recommend? Also, what paramedic programs would folks recommend for receiving excellent training and good clinical rotations in the U.S. ?

Thank you for your help and recommendations.

I'd go to Nursing School. I know that's not what you asked but please consider it. I regret making the choice to go to Paramedic school instead and at least in the US, a degree in EMS is not that useful.

Best ,

My school (Lindenwood University) does and that is my major. Are all the non fire academy/medic school classes the types of classes I have found super helpful? Not necessarily, but I also have only taken two outside of EMT/Medic, so I can't really comment on them too well. But you have the ability to come out having graduated the fire academy and a Paramedic, and you will have the degree saying you know things.

Now as far as clinicals goes, I have had a real good time. Not an area you are going to get a lot of gunshot wounds and stuff (wrong side of the river from St.Louis), but I hear about cardiac arrest calls all the time and I have been on scene for two serious MVC's where HEMS was called in the past week. There are also plenty of calls that aren't too crazy, but you will run the spectrum of stuff from cardiac, trauma, asthma, to "I just don't feel good".
