i can't believe these people who were doing this. i guess they thought it would be funny and didn't truely realize that someone was dying. not that i'm saying its ok what they did.

The attack has thrown the issue of single-manned vehicles into the political arena. A single response unit was sent to Mrs Jones and an ambulance arrived as back up later. Campaigners say that the service is inadequate because staff must wait for back up if they are attacked.

Huh? How is a second paramedic "back up" to a violent attack? It doesn't matter if there are sixteen medics on the ambulance. Until the cops get there, we ain't going in. I'm really surprised that the medic actually stayed out front in his vehicle, and I have to question his judgement for doing so.
