Some crews from around here went "upstate" last week to help with the flooding in NY. The biggest glory-hound on Long Island headed up the groups from Suffolk County... he was on the news, I guess the work was worth it, he got his mug on TV.

where i live in PA (montgomery county) the flooding was bad in some areas but not all. i was on a few water rescues and pumped out alot of houses. the people were really okay with all of it though. they were happy to see us and they weren't like completely bummed about what there houses looked like. my fire company went to pottstown to pump out some houses, we were the first ones there and last to leave with one other company, it was like hours of just watching people throw away some of there personal stuff and i felt bad, but then seeing how they just picked up everything and started rebuilding was awsome.

Yeah... a couple of small parts of my county (CHESTER) got badly flooded, and are eligible for FEMA/PEMA aid (yeah... that 4-letter word 
).
I missed out on the rescue side... I was acting as a leader for a bunch of Boy Scouts at a week-long summer camp.
