Does anyone know of any Online AEMT classes and do you have any experience and or thoughts about them?

From my experience it seems like many Paramedics look down on AEMT's/Intermediates, and think that level of license should be disposed of. One student in my Paramedic class suggested he might want to test out as a AEMT at some point if possible, and my instructors instantly said NO, and then launched into a tirade about EMT Specialists/Intermediates.

At the company I work for they have the same scope as Basics and get paid the same.

Shouldn't they be more in favor of doing away with EMT/EMT-Basic when Intermediate/Advanced?

The only two places I know of that have an online went program are percom and Lenoir. I'm in lenoir's medic program now and am really liking it. Studying is hard and working on knowing the information. But it is good. Check them out. Both have pros and cons.

Jtmlasvegas.com

They have online advanced courses. As well as a myriad of others.

Few places implement I's and A's.

Las Vegas only has ILS and ALS trucks. It's either Basic/Intermediate(Advanced) for bs IFT type stuff and some Code 2 calls if 911 is overwhelmed OR Intermediate(Advanced) and Medic for 911. Those are the county rules.

So dumb for an urban center like this to be set up like that. It's kinda cool because the I/A can start lines, administer limited drugs, check bgl, etc. which in my mind are all things basics should be able to do anyways. Easily incorporated into the curriculum.

Any experience with the JTM course? I was looking into the program for a little while-still might do it. I noticed on their website that after the online portion you go to their skills week. Do you not have to do clinicals at a hospital?
